Electrical Engineering

About Us

The universe that we live in is continuously shrinking and a lot of credit goes to the fast growing Electrical Engineering revolution. The Electrical Engineering Department was established in 2010. The department of Electrical Engineering has an intake of 60 students. We proposed Ten well-equipped different laboratories like Electrical Machines, Power System , Control System, Switchgear and Protection, High Voltage lab., Basic Electrical & Electronics, Electrical measurement & Measuring Instrument, etc. These labs holistically conform to not just the University curriculum but also industry requirements. In addition to that many additional extra curriculum activities that are being conducted for the students to give them cut edge knowledge in the fast paced world of Electrical Engineering. And the results are clearly visible. We provide platform for students to prepare for qualifying in competitive exams like GATE, GRE, and TOFEL etc. For last year, many more students of this department have been securing ranks in the list of Shivaji University. A dedicated faculty, who are upgrading themselves, keeping pace with the global progress, drives the department. They have published many research papers at National level. The students too are motivated to present their research papers and projects at State and National level winning prizes. For installing a sense of competence and make the learning more interesting the department has established Electrical Engineering Federal Association (EEFA), ISTE student chapters. The department has its own library with IEEE journals and transactions.

For installing a sense of competence and make the learning more interesting the department has established Electrical Engineering Federal Association (EEFA), ISTE student chapters. The department has its own library with IEEE journals.

The department follows best teaching practices, such as peer-to-peer learning, the use of ICT tools, project-based learning, etc., with activity or skill-based assessment. The department has well-experienced and qualified faculty members & supporting staff.

Currently, 06 faculty members are associated with the department, of whom two have Ph.D. Perusing qualifications There were Gold Medalists under Shivaji University, and many students have appeared on the merit list of Shivaji University. The students are performing well in the autonomous curriculum and maintaining good academic track records.. The current alumni strength is about 600+, all of whom are successfully working and few become entrepreneurs across the globel.

Best Practices 1

Title of the Practice  Miniproject (For SE Electrical Students)

Objectives of the Practice

– To understand the basic concepts & components of electrical engg.
– To design simple circuits related to electrical engg.
– To build the relation between theory and practical.

Outcomes of Miniprojects:

– Understand basic concepts & components of Electrical Engg.
– Design & explain simple circuits of electrical engg.

As have introduced this miniproject as extra subject other than syllabus, the initiation & involvement of students is challenging task in completion of miniproject. Another challenging point will be to make students to understand the importance of miniprojects at SE level.

Miniproject for SE Electrical Engg is introduced as other than syllabus subject from 2016-17. By performing these kinds of miniprojects at SE level, students will be able to understand the basic concepts of PCB design, Design of simple circuits & working of all components in Electrical Engg, which will be helpful for the students in their final year projects

The evidence of success is attached with respective files. The results are indicated in students performance at BE level projects. Students have also participated at many project competitions & also published papers at International Journals

Problems Encountered: Motivation for students is required to complete the miniprojects as it is not compulsory subjects.

Resources required: Projects lab which consists of all equipments which are used while building /designing the miniprojects.

Best Practices 2

Title of the Practice Paper Publication by students

Objectives of the Practice

– To understand the practical concepts of electrical engg
– To design paper related to electrical engg projects.
– To build the relation between BE projects and outside researchers.

Outcomes of Miniprojects:

– Write & Design Paper which is to be published.
– Understand all requirements related to paper publication and student’s paper will be published globally.

As we have made compulsory for BE students to Publish a paper related to their projects in any international journals, the completion of project in time and the initiation & involvement of students is challenging task in completion of paper in time.

Miniproject for SE Electrical Engg is introduced as other than syllabus subject from 2016-17.
